What is OCD?

OCD stands for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.It is an anxiety disorder with endless cycles of repetitive thoughts and behaviour.

Symptoms

Emotional Symptoms:

  1. Depression
  2. excessive worry
  3. constant feeling that nothing is right
  4. extreme tension

Physical symptoms:

eg: A person with germ obsession wash their hand too much that their skin becomes red, raw and painful.

Treatments

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Teach people with OCD to confront their fears & reduce anxiety without performing rituals.

  • Medication Therapy

Antidepressants such as Luvox, Prozac, and Zoloft
